Lane Reductions on USA Parkway Begin Sept. 27 for Roadway Patch Paving

Post Date:09/24/2025 1:13 PM

CARSON CITY, Nev. – Lane reductions will take place on USA Parkway (State Route 439) Sept. 27 through the end of 2025 as the Nevada Department of Transportation repaves sections of aging roadway surface.

  • Short sections of USA Parkway will be reduced to one lane in each direction between Interstate 80 and southern Electric Avenue.

    WEEKNIGHT AND WEEKEND CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE

    • The majority of lane reductions will take place from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly Sunday evenings through Friday mornings.
    • 24/7 weekend lane reductions will also periodically take place between 7 p.m. Fridays and 4 a.m. Mondays for marathon paving weekends, primarily in October and early November.

  • Individual areas of road work will be scheduled to avoid the busiest travel times and reduce traffic impacts as much as possible within the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center.

  • Motorists should also anticipate brief intersection closures of Waltham Way and Electric Avenue intersections at USA Parkway, with nearby, marked detours available.

  • The project schedule is subject to change without notice, based on weather and other factors.

  • Drivers are reminded to allow extra travel time and to drive safely through the road work zone.

The project will excavate small sections of aging asphalt surface and repave for a smoother drive.

Traffic has increased on this section of USA Parkway from 6,500 vehicles daily in 2014 to 24,000 vehicles daily in 2024.
