Spot Lane Reductions on North McCarran Blvd. for Crack Sealing of Roadway Surface

Post Date:01/23/2026 10:51 AM
Lane reductions will take place during non-commute hours on North McCarran Boulevard through Jan. 29 as the Nevada Department of Transportation seals roadway surface cracking.
• Spot areas of North McCarran Boulevard will be reduced to one lane between Keystone Avenue in Reno and Sullivan Lane in Sparks weekdays Wednesday, Jan. 21 through Thursday, Jan. 29.
• Lane reductions will take place during the following non-commute hours:
- 6:30 p.m. to 1 a.m.
- 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
• During these road work hours, short sections of moving road work will take place as crews move from spot to spot to seal roadway cracking. The road work is scheduled to avoid the heaviest commute hours.
• Left-hand turn pockets may briefly be closed for crack sealing. If a left turn pocket is closed for road work, drivers should continue to the next designated left or u-turn. Drivers should not attempt to turn left from a travel lane.
• Speed limits will be reduced in work zones.
• Motorists are advised to give extra travel time and to anticipate moderate travel delays. Motorists should drive safely through road work zones.
• Road work schedule is subject to change.
NDOT is filling age-related cracking of the roadway surface to provide a smoother driving surface and help preserve the roadway.
Similar spot lane reductions will take place over future months as NDOT fills surface cracking on other sections of McCarran Boulevard.
