The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) is announcing an updated schedule of traffic restrictions on Sunset Road (State Route 562) as part of an ongoing pavement rehabilitation project. Work will improve nearly three miles of pavement between Las Vegas Boulevard and Annie Oakley Drive, enhancing safety and extending the life of the roadway.
The $12.9 million federally funded project includes milling and paving Sunset Road as well as lowering utilities, removing and replacing median islands, and upgrading striping and electrical items. The following restrictions are necessary for utility upgrades.
Nightly (8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.) Sunday, Feb 8 to Thursday, Feb 12:
- Sunset Rd (SR-562) reduced to one lane in each direction between Gilespie St and Eastern Ave
Vehicles wider than 12 feet should consider alternate routes.
Motorists should use caution while traveling through work zones, and take alternate detour routes, if possible. NDOT works with Waze to inform the public about planned highway restrictions. The schedule is subject to change due to weather or other factors.
