Overnight Lane Reductions for Sunset Road Paving Project

Post Date:02/11/2026 11:22 AM

The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) is announcing an updated schedule of traffic restrictions on Sunset Road (State Route 562) as part of an ongoing pavement rehabilitation project. Work will improve nearly three miles of pavement between Las Vegas Boulevard and Annie Oakley Drive, enhancing safety and extending the life of the roadway.

The following restrictions are necessary for paving, utility adjustments, and concrete upgrades to sidewalks, curbs, and median islands.

Nightly (8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.) Friday, Feb 13 to Friday, Feb 27:

  • Sunset Rd (SR-562) reduced to one lane in each direction between Gilespie St and Eastern Ave
  • Intermittent lane restrictions on northbound Airport Connector ramp to Sunset Rd
  • Intermittent lane restrictions on Sunset Rd on-ramp to southbound Airport Connector/I-215
  • No work will take place on Saturdays.

Vehicles wider than 12 feet should consider alternate routes.

Motorists should use caution while traveling through work zones, and take alternate detour routes, if possible. NDOT works with Waze to inform the public about planned highway restrictions. The schedule is subject to change due to weather or other factors.
