The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) will begin a short-term roadway improvement project on Flamingo Road (State Route 592) between Paradise Road and Pecos Road beginning Monday night, May 18.
The $339,669 federally funded project will improve safety features along the corridor, including:
- Refreshed thermoplastic crosswalk markings and stop bars at intersections
- New and refreshed striping and reflective roadway markers throughout the corridor
- Installation of flexible guideposts and object markers to better define traffic movements and roadway features
Traffic restrictions for the first week of work are as follows:
Nightly (8 p.m. to 5 a.m.) Monday, May 18 through Friday, May 22:
- Intermittent lane reductions on Flamingo Road between Paradise Road and Pecos Road
- Speed limit reduced to 35 mph throughout work zone
Construction is anticipated to conclude in summer 2026.
Motorists should use caution while traveling through work zones and take alternate detour routes, if possible. NDOT works with Waze to inform the public about planned highway restrictions. The schedule is subject to change due to weather or other factors.
