The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) will implement overnight lane restrictions on Flamingo Road (State Route 592) for an ongoing safety improvement project between Paradise Road and Pecos Road.
The $339,669 federally funded project will improve safety features along the corridor, including:
- Refreshed thermoplastic crosswalk markings and stop bars at intersections
- New and refreshed striping and reflective roadway markers throughout the corridor
- Installation of flexible guideposts and object markers to better define traffic movements and roadway features
Traffic restrictions are as follows:
Nightly (8 p.m. to 5 a.m.) Tuesday, May 26 through Friday, May 29:
• Intermittent lane reductions on East Flamingo Road between Paradise Road and Pecos Road
• Intermittent lane reductions and shoulder closures at intersections along the corridor, including University Center Drive, Tamarus Street, Burnham Avenue, Eastern Avenue, McLeod Drive, and Pecos Road.
• Traffic may be reduced to a single lane for short durations.
• Speed limit reduced to 35 mph throughout the work zone
Motorists should use caution while traveling through work zones and take alternate detour routes, if possible. NDOT works with Waze to inform the public about planned highway restrictions. The schedule is subject to change due to weather or other factors.
