Research Program

The Research Program identifies and assists with the development of new technical knowledge, along with its implementation into common practice. Department staff may initiate research projects; research needs are evaluated by Research Program staff and the NDOT Leadership team.

Product Evaluation

Product Evaluation maintains the qualified product list (QPL), and coordinates the evaluation of products that may be used by the Department and its contractors.

Library

By cataloging and sharing print and electronic reference materials, coordinating loans of materials from other libraries, and assisting in the search for specific transportation-related information, the Library serves as a unique resource for NDOT staff, other government agencies and the public. Library holdings can be searched using the online catalog.

LTAP

The Research Section, in conjunction with the Nevada System of Higher Education, administers the Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP), which provides valuable transportation-related technical training.
