The Communications Division strives to continually improve NDOT’s communication efforts by responding to each inquiry or concern promptly; being proactive in informing stakeholders and residents about upcoming road construction projects; maintaining an interactive website and social media presence; and writing newsletter stories, designing collateral, and taking photos that highlight NDOT’s wide range of activities.
Customer Service
The Customer Service Department is located at NDOT headquarters in Carson City and serves as the main point of contact for NDOT statewide. Public inquiries and concerns are logged, triaged, and forwarded to each of NDOT’s three District offices as appropriate. Also under the Customer Service umbrella are legislative coordination and NDOT’s Sponsor-a-Highway Program.
Multimedia
The multimedia section takes care of all NDOT printed materials, which includes graphic design, special mapping, photo manipulation, electronic presentations, and all mounting, laminating and framing.
Public Information
Public Information Officers (PIOs) are located in both northern and southern Nevada and respond to inquiries and concerns from the media, write news releases, and maintain the NDOT website and social media accounts. Additionally, they provide school outreach, make presentations, and produce newsletters and internal communications. Public Information staff also takes, distributes, and organizes photographs and video productions.

Public Involvement
The Public Involvement Specialist supports the Communications staff and oversees public involvement activities statewide for the Department's highway projects and studies. Engaging the public and interested stakeholders is a priority for NDOT, so public outreach is provided to businesses and residences that may be affected by road projects.
