Application Information

Participating groups are permitted to remove litter along a 2-mile section of highway, in one direction of travel, from the edge of the roadway outward. Please refer to the map above for routes available for adoption.

Groups are expected to apply for a permit annually and coordinate at least 4 clean-up events per year. NDOT will provide permitted groups with vests, hats, trash bags, bag pick-up service, and will install a sign with the group’s name on it along their permitted section of highway.
