U.S. 95 Pavement Preservation Project near Boulder City
Project Overview
The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) will begin a $41 million federally-funded pavement preservation project on U.S. 95 in Clark County in late February, improving roadway conditions on a key corridor south of Boulder City.
The project spans approximately 17 miles of U.S. 95, from approximately 7 miles north of Nelson Road to nearly 3 miles south of the Interstate 11 junction (mileposts 37.85 to 55.15). Work includes milling and resurfacing the roadway, as well as repairing damaged pavement. Additional improvements include updated striping and signage, drainage and lighting upgrades, and installation of tortoise fencing.
Current Restrictions
Daily, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, September 2 through Friday, September 11:
- Northbound and southbound U.S. 95 reduced to one lane with shoulder closures between MP 44 and MP 50
- Lane and shoulder closures will shift between the left and right sides of the roadway as work progresses.
Daily, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, September 14 through Friday, September 18:
- Northbound and southbound U.S. 95 reduced to one lane with shoulder closures between MP 49 and MP 55
- Lane and shoulder closures will shift between the left and right sides of the roadway as work progresses.
Daily, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, September 14 through Friday, October 2:
- Northbound and southbound U.S. 95 reduced to one lane with shoulder closures between MP 37.5 and MP 44
- Lane and shoulder closures will shift between the left and right sides of the roadway as work progresses.
Construction is anticipated to be completed by winter 2026, weather permitting. During active construction, the speed limit will be reduced to 55 mph through work zones for the safety of both drivers and construction crews.
Motorists should use caution while traveling through work zones, and take alternate detour routes, if possible. NDOT works with Waze to inform the public about planned highway restrictions. The schedule is subject to change due to weather or other factors.
